I am finally connected to the world again!!!! The delights of broadband. Thanks to Cork Community Broadband, especially Owen for getting us up and running again. We have a bit of equipment which allows the broadband signal to travel through the electricity connection so I can plug in my laptop in the mobile home and hey presto....connected!
Well... what has been happening. Christmas was good, although Daithi was ill on Stephen's Day and had to see the emergency doctor the day after that. Fortunately he recovered enough to travel to the UK for the New Year but while we were there I was ill! The boys had a great time anyway!
Unfortunately it meant that we couldn't do as much work on the house as we would have liked over the holidays and now Daithi is back working away 3 days a week. Since the New Year the weather has not been kind to us at the weekends, which has hampered the efforts to install the windows. Nearly all the downstairs have been put in, some of the upstairs need glazing and a few need painting still. We managed to source some more lead for the weights. Daithi has perfected the technique to mould the lead weights now and only has a few more to make. Still no move in date but life in the mobile is fairly comfortable so I am in no real rush.
A positive note...I bought a new tumble dryer (Hoover from Currys)! Thanks to all my friends who helped out with my laundry since we moved into the mobile but I am now able to dry things! We also bought our bathroom and cloakroom essentials (toilets, sinks, shower enclosures, taps etc) in the B & Q sale. It hasn't been delivered yet though.
